This month, we will meet on the second Friday due to the Business Summit scheduled for September 20.

Empowering Others to Fail and Other Methods to Inspire & Motivate

Oprah Winfrey has built a successful career by empowering others. She has given many people their first big break, and she is known for encouraging her team members to pursue their own passions and dreams. Great leaders also build strong relationships with their followers. As a business owner or leader in your organization, do you make efforts to empower those around you—employees, colleagues, and even customers? Do you encourage people around you to try... and fail? Do you forgive yourself for failures? As the saying goes, "Try and fail, but never fail to try!" Empowering others (and yourself) to feel safe to fail can help foster innovation, learning, and growth.

Our speaker, Lisa Milne, is the Director of Alumni Relations for the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committees, and she has just returned from Paris. She'll let us in on some of the behind-the-scenes Olympic activities and the athletes who never failed to try. And she'll share her experience and observations as an employee of the Olympics and her previous roles in leading teams to create engagement, be authentic, foster collaboration, build relationships, take chances (and sometimes fail), and celebrate success.

Join us on the third Friday of the month, for an opportunity to hear from inspiring guest speakers and create some amazing connections!

The Women’s Leadership Coalition was launched with the goal to educate, inspire, mentor, and support women in leadership positions in the workplace and in the community. The program also fulfills key parts of Pickerington Area Chamber's vision and mission to provide opportunities for connection and to help our members and community thrive both today and tomorrow.
